Borador
Border Collie / Labrador Retriever
Hybrid
The Borador is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the
Border Collie and the
Labrador Retriever. The best way to
determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross
and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in
either breed. This hybrid cross is recognized by the American Canine Hybrid
Club. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs
being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to
breed multi-generation crosses.

"This is Onyx, our Border Collie / Black Lab mix as a puppy, when he first came home. He's now about 70lbs. heavier. He is a great member of the family and very hyper. He loves to herd people and is very vocal, and now after Cesar Millan's Dog Whisperer, he is a much better listener."

"Rex is a 3 month old Labrador /
Border Collie cross puppy. His mom was Border Collie his father a black
Labrador. He seems to have the temperament of a Labrador but all the energy
of a Border Collie!! You wouldn't be able to tire him out! He loves to herd
things especially people!! He doesn't really get the game fetch like a
Labrador. We'll just have to wait and see whether he turns out to be more
like a Collie or a Lab!!"

"Sweet Pea, my female Border
Collie/Yellow Lab mix at 4 years old. She is a very sweet natured dog and is
great with family and familiar people, but she gets very protective around
strangers or strange dogs. She is not big on swimming in water, but has webbed
feet. She is also quite intelligent and loves exercise. She lives with a family
of 3(mom, dad, daughter) and six cats and gets along great with cats. We
adopted her at 3
months old from the local SPCA and she is a great pet! She is about 40
pounds and about 22 1/2 inches tall from floor to shoulders and 30 inches long
from her nose to her butt. She is a big eater and is not very picky."
