American Eskimo / Shiba Inu Hybrid

The Imo-Inu is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the American Eskimo and the Shiba Inu. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. This hybrid cross is recognized by the American Canine Hybrid Club and the Designer Dogs Kennel Club. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.

Shilo, the Shiba Inu / Eskimo hybrid (Imo-Inu) at 3 years old. His owner states, "His temperament is that of a Shiba. He is very self sufficient and ornery. If you tell him to lie down, he will stand up, if you tell him to sit HERE, he will sit There, if you tell him to come on the bed, he will go underneath. He loves his toys, especially his rubber ball that squeaks, and pulling the stuffing out of ALL stuffed animals. He is gentle with our pet turtle, and loves to play with our friends daughter after he got used to her, and his favorite thing is to lick and lick and lick."
