Mauzer

Miniature Schnauzer / Maltese Hybrid

The Mauzer is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Miniature Schnauzer and the Maltese. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. This hybrid cross is recognized by the American Canine Hybrid Club. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.

Theadore (aka "Teddy") the Mauzer at 14 months old. "He comes from a purebred Maltese mom, and a purebred Min. Schnauzer dad ( I know the breeder & their dogs). Teddy has the Min. Schnauzer type of coat, is non-shedding, and a wonderful, friendly yet protective temperament. He is absolutely incredible with my 14 month old granddaughter, as well as the younger children. He's very quick to learn, but can sulk if he's not getting what he considers as his "share" of attention. Training him is a snap, as he wants to please. His one real "quirk" is that he's got a dreadful under-bite, but to me it just adds to his appeal."
