Tzu Basset Basset Hound / Shih Tzu Hybrid The Tzu Basset is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Basset Hound and the Shih Tzu. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.
"These two are brother and sister from the same litter!, (the girl is the 1 with long hair!) They both have the long basset hound body, yet short noses, and the long floppy ears, the girl has a long coat, more like the Shih Tzu then the Basset. They have high pitched barks, more so than most puppies. They are 4 months old in these pictures!! Aren't they cute?!"
